Nayaswami Shankara
Nayaswami Shankara met Swami Kriyananda (direct disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda) in 2003. He lived with Kriyananda ji until his passing in 2013. Since 2004, through his public lectures, meditation classes, and personal counsel, Shankara ji has taught thousands the sacred teachings of meditation and Kriya Yoga across India, including the NCR region, Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Pune.
He has helped start meditation groups in several Indian cities, including Kolkata and is our guiding light in all of Master’s work in the city. Leading the Ananda Monastery in Chandigarh along with Nayaswami Devarshi, Shankara ji travels on a regular basis in India and abroad to guide truth-seekers in their spiritual quest.
He also founded the Ananda Kriya Yoga Home study Course and through this online tool is now reaching thousands of souls in India and expanding the light of Kriya into Singapore, South Africa, New Zealand and so on. Shankara ji has given unconditionally and unflinchingly to our Kolkata and handheld us through the curves of our spiritual growth and continues to empower and train us as such. We take this as a deep divine blessing from the Masters, to have him guide us.
Gurupriya
Gurupriya got introduced to Paramhansa Yogananda, the Autobiography of a Yogi and to Kriya Yoga while living in Switzerland. This happened on a train journey, apparently quite by chance, where she met with a Kriya Yogi. Soon after, in 2013, she moved back with her husband to India and in 2014, came to Ananda Kolkata. An intense yearning for a spiritual anchor, for Guru, finally found its answer and resting place at the lotus feet of our beloved Masters, in Ananda.
She deeply appreciates the inspiration and freedom with which Ananda allows seekers and disciples to meditate and serve together. Tuning into the various expressions of Master's consciousness, practicing the teachings, serving Master and Swamiji has enriched her life experience profoundly at all levels. She finds great joy and meaning every day, in sharing this light and attunement with all that seek it.
Gurupriya is also a visual artist and has worked independently as a full-time commissioned artist for several years. Currently, she is the resident Acharya and the Center Leader for the work in Kolkata. She received her Acharya Blessing from Nayaswamis Jyotish ji and Devi ji, in 2022.
